Picture at Natural History Museum. The caption said "The herbivore triceritops was no match for the carnivorous T-rex". The picture really drives that home. Tanya, I thought you would like this the most.

Some grafitti. We took pictures of this on Kris' camera too, but this mangy dog kept rubbing up on us so we moved on.

Streets. This is about 5 minutes from where we are staying.
The view from our apartment. We are 11 floors up.
We decided to go see the sights. We walked all over the place, in no particular direction. We visited the botanical gardens (nice, but not spectacular), the "Peace" park where people are practicing Tai Chi and the Natural history museum. We ate at this little noodle place, and managed to order chicken and rice plus this tofu garlic-sauce thing by pointing and smiling. Lots of smiling. We kept walking and ended up in this underground metro station-slash-mall-slash-foodcourt. It was massive and confusing and full of things to look at. Things like sequined head bands and stuffed animals (mostly rabbits) and books. We ate again at this vegetarian restaurant that looked very... local (does that make sense?). No english to be seen, open style. We walked in nervously and sat, waiting to see if someone would come over. No one came. I went up to the front, ready to say something like "I want mixed vegetables" - but in reality I'd probably butcher that phrase into something like " I horse fairy wood". She pulls out an English menu and we are saved from starvation (hardly).
Our apartment is attached to this posh mall, so we went in to see what was in there. It is pretty cool, lots of name brands but also some cool Asian brands. It's priced about the same as Canada, so no sweet foreign deals in this place. We also found a grocery shop so that we don't have to eat out every meal. Eating out is kind of stressful, given the language barrier. But it's the kind of uncomfortableness that is good for you. I like the challenge of it all.
I wrote more than I thought I would. Don't get used to this, guys. I took some pictures on our walk! Check them out:
